The excitement around C0/1 in my area has picked up significantly in the last year. With that said I've decided to join the shenanigans. Everyone around here is running XJs, Comanches, JKs, etc... I wanted something different but I also wanted something SCX10ii based.

So to kick things off I picked up a Tamiya CC01 Isuzu MU. I stole the body package and components and sold the rest. My next challenge was wheel base. I explored the shorty wheel base chassis but I wanted to stick with C-channel rails. So I found a donor SCX10ii in my area.

This is going to be a narrow and short. Therefore some Beef Tubes Narrow 44s were in order.

I'm weird and always install the extra rear bearing on my AR44s. More is better right?


All set.


I assembled the front axle and threw it under the body. Just over half covered. However, I opted for the RC4WD narrow 5-lug hubs. This should bring the wheels in another 1/8" on each side.




Next up is getting the axles mounted. I'm running a SCX10ii "kit" style transmission. I really wanted to run a crossmember style setup like the TF2. Realism right? Well there's only one way to accomplish this task!



I've also got a stockpile of styrene for the interior and engine bay.
