| GTSLOW builds an SCX10ii based Isuzu MU.
The excitement around C0/1 in my area has picked up significantly in the last year. With that said I've decided to join the shenanigans. Everyone around here is running XJs, Comanches, JKs, etc... I wanted something different but I also wanted something SCX10ii based. So to kick things off I picked up a Tamiya CC01 Isuzu MU. I stole the body package and components and sold the rest. My next challenge was wheel base. I explored the shorty wheel base chassis but I wanted to stick with C-channel rails. So I found a donor SCX10ii in my area. Feel free to follow me as I build this unique SWB rig. It's so purdy! The partial donor. This is going to be a narrow and short. Therefore some Beef Tubes Narrow 44s were in order. Comparison to stock. I'm weird and always install the extra rear bearing on my AR44s. More is better right? All set. I assembled the front axle and threw it under the body. Just over half covered. However, I opted for the RC4WD narrow 5-lug hubs. This should bring the wheels in another 1/8" on each side. Next up is getting the axles mounted. I'm running a SCX10ii "kit" style transmission. I really wanted to run a crossmember style setup like the TF2. Realism right? Well there's only one way to accomplish this task! I've also got a stockpile of styrene for the interior and engine bay.
