Trying something new, building something fancy for once...

I was told left and right ive gotta send my axles to Dlux to have them assembled, but ive been building these things forever. I felt like i could tackle it.

So what i did-
I ended up with a set of Dlux replacement berg cases, then i wanted to throw a set of superlite tubes on.

So, it was just like clocking stock axles back in the day.. throw the link mounts on, level the front, clock the back up. Mark holes, double check with a caliper, drill and counter sink, and were golden!






So, then came the issue of the stock “replacement” case needing to have the bearings played with. On the front, the solution was to remove the large flanged bearing on the short side plate, letting the locker ride inside the bearing in the tube, which was simple enough, bolted up and smooth sailing.

Now... the rear.... i spent a whole day trying to figure out what was going on. After trying several different combinations of where bearings go and all that jazz. So, long story short. Heres where i ended up... short side flange bearing gone, same as front.

However, had to swap the other 2 bearings, which meant the flange being on the outside. So to keep them from falling out, i drilled and tapped a hole in the plate, installed a Dlux brass knuckle insert with a machined spacer and washer to hold the flanged bearings in place. After a good bit of testing today and some red thread lock, its holding up great!
