| Unnamed rally car project (1/10)
So, decided to build a 1/10 rally car with a center differential and belts instead of shaft. Did some thinking and drawing and ended up with this. Based on a Xray XB4 high volume differential. Put the diff case in the lathe and removed the bottom. Made a new out of 6082-T6 aluminum. Used a diff cross pin from Xray X1 so the bevel gear axle could run through the differential. The concept worked. Last edited by Karl_Hungus; 10-15-2021 at 03:29 AM. |

Version 4 of the differential since the first 3 wasn't long enough. Had to "make" a new spur since Xray don't have a 87T for their differentials, only for their slippers. Skickat från min AC2003 via Tapatalk |

First batch of belts came. So cool to be able to just make a phone call and order the belts you need for a fraction of the price Tamiya or any other brands charge and have them delivered 2 days later Only problem is that I ordered too short rear belt Skickat från min AC2003 via Tapatalk |

Moving the servo to the Center of the car requires a new part for the steering. And since I can't buy what I need, I had to make one New on the Old on the Skickat från min AC2003 via Tapatalk |

This is what it looks like today, it's too wide at the moment so I'll have to manufacture some differential mounts so I can use the XV-01 suspension mounts instead of the TA-06. The differential will be mounted on the suspension mounts instead of the chassis to get the clearance needed for the XV-01 suspension arms. Skickat från min AC2003 via Tapatalk |

Wild man. Some out if the box thinking going on here. Is the center diff still sealed? |

Just found this thread, very interesting project! What has happened to the car since the last post, is it completed? I would love to see and read more about this kind of car building.
