Does anyone know who I contact or where I go to get someone to make me a custom hard body for either my VS4-10 phoenix or for my future SCX-10 III? I am looking for someone Who can make me a hard body out of styrene. I really like the way styrene works and how it can end up looking when done right. I dont know of many places that actually have websites & such making custom bodies. I do see a bunch of different people doing them & offering them on facebook though. Most are just people doing them at home & offering their services just to make a lil extra or to try new things.

From what I have found styrene can be made very scale and you can also work with it yourself if you want to make some changes to your body even after it has been made.

I still use styrene in my builds, it is a convenient fill here and there. If the part just needs to be a simple flat part, or if I need to fill a very large space, styrene comes in very handy. | |

This can be done with any plastic that is used to make hard bodies. Injection molded Fdm printed Or styrene. But having a body made custom out of styrene, hope you have some very deep pockets because that's a lot of time and work. Probably why there are very few to none that do it anymore unless it's for their own project. Fdm 3d printing took over because it's just as scale in appearance as any other (actually more scale if going exact because bodies are designed from 3d scans of the vehicles they are modeled from), changes can be made to the design in CAD program to customize, saving time and material, and relatively cheap to make compared to other methods. Instead of weeks or months to make a body it's some cad time, let printer print it, sand, assemble, paint or any other desired finishing work. Also done properly 3d printed bodies are stronger that styrene. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk |

Head over to the Scale Builders Guild and throw up a thread if you haven’t yet. There must be some styrene purists lurking in there somewhere. Time is money, money talks...
